Is there any error (red small text) showing below the address now?
Here is an example of an error below an address:
The logs that you showed don’t say anything about why it’s disconnected, just that sync doesn’t work because it’s disconnected.
Thank you for reply. It was connected now and is syncing, but I think it will disconnect after some time, so I will pay attention on it continuously.
For the record, I’ve had issues like this, where it just suddenly disconnects for no reason and then reconnects relatively quickly.
If your scenario is related to mine, there would be no errors, as by the time the first reconnection attempt happens, the device would be already available again.
I’ve never really bothered making a support topic about it, since it has always resolved itself “magically”.
What is the OS of the device that disconnected? I can tell (based on the folder path) that the device you took the screenshot from is Windows.
Yes, you are right. The OS is windows.
Actually as you said, my scenario is similar with yours, the device would be already available again after a period. But I think it’s strange, I already added other devices, and they all have no this kind of scenario.
Just to confirm, which version of Syncthing are you running? If it’s v2, I’d suggest to upgrade to the newest RC, which is rc.15 at the moment.
I had an issue with similar symptoms where a Windows laptop would suspend itself, Syncthing would lose connectivity, and then the laptop would almost immediately come out of suspend mode. Most of the time, Syncthing would recover immediately. A couple times in my case, Syncthing would need a restart of its process or the PC to come back online.
This specific machine was a laptop kept on AC power while closed. Turning suspend mode all the way off on AC power resolved the issue.
I am running V2 rc.14.
Yes, most of the time, Syncthing would recover in a short time. But some time, it keeps disconnecting status long time, may be 10 minutes or more.
Please try upgrading to rc.15 and see if there is any improvement. The reason is that even though you haven’t mentioned any logs similar to https://forum.syncthing.net/t/connection-dropped-due-to-decompressing-message-lz4-invalid-source-or-destination-buffer-too-short-and-unmarshalling-message-string-field-contains-invalid-utf-8/24349, that issue would cause such sudden connection drops. The problem is only fixed in rc.15.
Thank you, I’ll try it.
I have upgraded it to rc.15 and it seems to normal now. Your reply is helpful. Thank you very much.
