Syncing hanging after reconnecing folders

How to reproduce (I’m using two Windows 64 on Intel)

  1. Share a folder between 2 devices, let the sync complete
  2. Remove the syncing on either device - Now the folder exists on both devices, but status is “Not used” on one of the devices
  3. Pause, restart or similar, so the device not sharing gets the request to share the folder again
  4. Accept the sharing
  5. Now
    1. Both devices show the folder as “updated”
    2. One device shows the other as “updated”, but the other device shows “Syncing” with the full size of the shared folder, but no progress (hanging)

Are anyone able to re-produce?

Hi @frlu

I think this is the same as this: Possible Bug Around Removing and Re-Adding A Folder

Possibly the same, yes.

My devices are on version 2.0.10.

Hi again!

I don’t want to remove files and let my devices re-sync, ‘cause I have an untrusted device that has a backup in the cloud. Removing files and letting it re-sync will create so much data transfer…

AND the problem re-occurs after disconnecting/re-connecting folders.

If/when someone can test to re-produce the issue and let me know if it’s actually a problem or just me  ?

Update!

After resetting databases on both trusted and un-trusted devices, I can’t re-produce this myself any longer… So possible something happended on some device during migrations from 1.x to 2.x.

So let’s kill this topic.

AFAIK when this happens, restarting Syncthing on either side should be sufficient to kick it loose.
