“invalid cross-device link”

I’ve got two folders that have been syncing for months. Recently, both started complaining about “syncing: dst write: invalid cross-device link”.

It’s the same file that keeps failing to sync in both folders (.stignore-synced).

Both folders use staggered file versioning (default path), and every file is stored on the same disk. (So, it’s not the same issue as #12474.)

Any ideas?

You may want to post screenshots of the Syncthing Web GUI from all affected devices. Logfiles will be of help too. Additionally, judging by the error message, some details about the system configuration (hardware, operating system, filesystem, etc.) may also be required to diagnose this particular issue.
