The main problem that I have with Synchting is that the device and/or folders stuck at syncing at some percentage. Frequently folders are up to date and devices pause at some value. In other cases, both are affected.
So far I do these things:
- Unkink and link folders afresh. If folder IDs don’t change, will large folders have to be synced transferring a lot of data? That’s useless because it’s a new sync. Only metadata or index has to be updated if files hashes are the same. What if the same data is there on both ends but folder ids are new or syncthing .stfolder has been deleted to reset it?
- Do not sync permissions and add same ignore patterns on all devices
- Don’t sync git folders, virtual environments, etc
Any idea why this happens so often and what else could be done?
