"blind" devices for high availability

I really love Syncthing. It’s replaced dropbox for me and I’m happy to be in control of my stuff again. However, sometimes I’m working on a device and all my other ones are offline. It’d be good to have something that’s always on (i’m thinking raspberry pi at home).

However, would there be a way to setup some “blind” device that you can sync to but can’t actually see (decrypt) the files? a private key could be shared between the already existing devices. The usecase I have in mind is setting up an EC2 instance.

There had been lots of discussion on this (on mobile atm, but search the forum and github for “encrypted device” and similar).

The opinion is definitely worth doing, and there was one third party effort which stalled, but noone’s done the work to completion yet.

Encryption for remote syncthing device

Hi, I don't think this is possible so this is more of a feature request, unless there's a way to do this using 3rd party apps...I'd like to run a syncthing device on my VPS cloud server (digital ocean in my case) but I'd like to have the entire folder encrypted since it will not be in my physical control. I know traffic between devices is encrypted via TLS but the files themselves will be sitting there unencrypted. Any way to have seamless encryption of files on a device? I'm not too concerne…

No read access shares / keeping files encrypted

actually i am using syncthing with succes between my own computers. my relatives are interested in syncthing but we are suffering an issue. they do not have several machines. and they will not invest in several machines. i do not want to share a folder with them on which i will have read access. actually syncthing encrypt the files for transfert and then uncrypt the files on each node. is there a way to config some shares/nodes to keep the files encrypted ? so that if someone sync fi…
