Application only works if mounted - Mac Sonoma 14.5

I bought the new Mac Studio this week, downloaded Syncthing and it won’t stay open unless I leave the install drive mounted. The moment I eject it, the application fails to start. This is after I’ve moved the application to the Applications directory. The interesting thing is that if I reopen the install dmg just to mount the drive, the settings and app works. This is without replacing the existing app.

While the quick fix is leave it mounted, I don’t like leaving unused resources left active. And I don’t know enough about what’s actually mounted to know whether this presents an unknown issue.

See MacOS Sonoma and Initial Install Trouble. It’s a known problem. The currently last post gives a possible explanation and a workaround to remedy the situation was described.
