We could try to get a bunch of us there next year instead (or in addition) of FOSDEM - there’s usually some reservations voiced with Brussels in winter and I’d expect Florence in autumn would not be subject to those. Downside being cost.
And looks like they don’t have a run on their lightning talks. I am semi-considering doing something syncthing-y. While the v2 release is an obvious candidate topic and likely the DB changes e.g. performance could make for an interesting case study, making that into something presentable seems like quite a bit of work I don’t have time for. Your discovery server infra thread from last year comes with a nice story and graphs. I feel like I could steal that to plagiarize it into a lightning talk with small effort (it probably could also be full-blown talk with some research o.O ). And then throw in a “anyone want to implement DHT discovery?” and mainly some unrelated long-term usage graph for “look how @calmh’s puppy grew up” 
Would you be good with that @calmh ?
