Are there any thoughts about opening the web interface to allow downloading and uploading files from the configured folders? This would allow syncthing to be used as an http file server as well.
There are already HTTP servers, including ones that you can start to serve files from the current directory without setup or configuration. Why should Syncthing do this as well? It seems to me that this would be just one more distraction / extra feature track that needs maintenance and attention, taking up developer time that could be focused on core functionality instead…

Since Syncthing doesn’t include this feature, I needed to install a web server separately in order to download files from URLs.
