Why these are so complicated to setup are these made for some engineers ??!! I’m not a beginner in PC but this is definitely not user friendly program !!! A simple folder backup took me an hour and still cant choose my own place for saving ?!?! what is this made for !!??? where on my nas all folder is going ?!? I don’t even see it !!!how to organize all this crap !??!
Please check Introduction — Syncthing documentation if you haven’t already. However, I’d say that Syncthing isn’t really intended for a total beginner, i.e. you do need to have some basic computer skills to set it up.
If you need help with specific parts of the configuration, please post screenshots of what you’re seeing on the screen. This is especially so that there is chance that you’re not using the standard Syncthing Web GUI on the NAS.
Also, please keep in mind that Syncthing is bidirectional synchronisation software, not a backup solution (e.g. if you delete a file by mistake, it will immediately be gone from all synced devices).
With all do respect my friend I have 15 Linux disro on my PC and Using windows since 2001 do you think I’m Facebook only guy !! and I checked my friend few times doc but its absolute mess nothing clear but confusing and have some exp with software !! including backup !!
I’ve worked with engineering software and some f them are as this program but some are way easy to figure out !! I wish to support such projects but I don’t think dev have this vision of making soft for everyone !!
There are some caveats to changing the destination after the Syncthing folder has been initialized so the UI for it is under the advanced settings (Actions → Advanced → Folders). From Syncthing’s FAQ: How do I rename/move a synced folder?
Honestly, I’d suggest watching some YouTube tutorials on how to set up Syncthing for the first time. When it comes to changing a folder path though, the official recommendation is to remove and re-add the folder from scratch. Using the Advanced Configuration to change the path can lead to data loss, unless you know specifically what you’re doing.
I watched bro already on yt saying just press here and leave here by default and this it ! c’mon this robot settings’ need to configure by myself and this program and including you saying its not a easy thing to configure a simple path to the destination !!! Im done with this program im moving to other for test !!!
