They are not connected.

yeah theres no reason they shouldnt be connected…havent lost power and it was working before i went to bed…woke up and it wasnt working…even tried a fresh install of win7

they connect once i pause the folder on local pc

i turned off scanning on local pc folder in syncthing and its working…any reason that setting would fix it?

I am pretty sure that all these things you listed are red herrings, if no direct connection is possible, it sometimes might take some time to connect via a relay.
