Use Syncthing with a OneDrive folder on macos

Hi All,

I have a OneDrive folder used for work. I’d like to sync one of the OneDrive subfolders. Am I able, on macos, to select one of those OneDrive subfolders, or will this create a conflict?

Reversly, am I able to select a local folder on my mac and have it synced to OneDrive?

Thank you!

Full background: I have a “teacher” local folder on my mac. This year, I work in school “A” that uses OneDrive. So I would like my folder “teacher/2024-2025/” to be synced on OneDrive, but keep a local version to stay in control of it.

Another scenario: Within my “A school” OneDrive, I have a more personal folder which I’d like to keep aligned with a local copy on my mac.

Talking contretely, I do see that OneDrive is a symlink from the location I chose, to:

/Users//Library/CloudStorage//

I wonder if it is risky to use this location in Syncthing?

I think it should be fine, provided you check the checkbox in onedrive for always keeping files on the local device.

I’ll give this a try.

Thank you so much for your help and for such a fantastic product!

I sync two work OneDrive folders with Syncthing, however I’ve only got OneDrive installed on a single server-like device, and the rest of the synchronisation with other devices is handled by Syncthing.

Basically, I would make sure that you’re not trying to sync between the same devices with both OneDrive and Syncthing at the same time, as that will likely lead to issues.
