Urgent! How to recover deleted files via Syncthing?

    Hi, I need help urgently.

    I use Syncthing to synchronize between my laptop (Windows 11) and my phone (Android 13). On 03/03/2024 I deleted files on the phone, expecting Syncthing to pull them back up from the laptop. But instead, the files deleted on the laptop as well!

    I didn’t have a backup, but I know Syncthing has a history of changes. How can I recover the files?

  • Additional info:

    • Syncthing version: 1.26.1
    • The “File Versioning” feature was disabled (I don’t know what that is, I guess).
    • Really counting on help, this is critical for me!

Syncthing can not help you recover the files in the described scenario. Sorry.

There are some disk scanning tools that can help you recover deleted files (which are usually still readable but removed from the index). I guess that it’s your best chance right now
