Update a password for a non-empty directory

P1 - source, trusted machine

P2 - remote, non trusted one; receive-encrypted

A password has already been set, some data has been transfered. Now I need to update a password - on P1.

On which machine will I have to delete and re-create the directories? Only on P2?

Can’t the password simply be updated in-place on P1, without re-creation of the directories (on P2?) ? Meaning, wouldn’t they get re-created, overwritten on their own with a new password?

You’ll need to remove the folder and re-add it on P2. Sorry.
