Ton of connectings outside

Question is simple. Why does the Syncthing use tons of connections for outside? That is not local sync only? That’s just some part cycling for 1 minute. And that’s going to send packets outside without stopping.

That’s relay and STUN stuff, as always.

Syncthing probes relays for latency at startup, and keeps some on standby even if sync is only local at the moment.

Note that this behavior can be turned off (search the documentation or this forum; this question comes up from time to time)

Also note that while Syncthing CAN be used purely within the local network, it is basically not what it was designed to do (since that can/could be done in a somewhat secure and somehwat simple way using a number of tools already before Syncthing was born) Just writing this as a disclaimer for why that is not the default.
