For all of you with any sort of speed concerns. I’ve used syncthing-android 1.9 (yes quite old) with much luck.
Please let me if this fixes your issues as well.

Doesn’t fix it for me.
That’s so odd. I was able to sync/scan 18+ gigs (1000s of photos) within a matter of minutes, maybe 2?. Before it would be like… half an hour?
Not sure what kind of a problem you were dealing with exactly, but the known issue with slow sync due to restricted filesystem access under Android 11 and newer isn’t about 2 minutes vs 30 minutes but more like 2 minutes (before Android 11) vs 5 hours (Android 11+) . As described in many other forum topics, this mainly affects folders that have 1000+ files located in a single directory.
Yep, I’m saying 1.9 fixed this for me.
Did we change anything related to the media scanner back then ? I thought media scan in Android takes place asynchronously…
I think this may be because the old app targets an old Android version (which maybe allows it to access the storage directly?). Would need to test to confirm though.
Yeah, please keep in mind though that now you’re stuck not only on the old version of the app, but also a very old version of Syncthing that is bundled with it.
@alswkd4 What about v1.10.0 from the release page? Does it work fast as well?
Yep, but its lan only and just this one client. Still establishes tls1.3 too.
But yes, old.
1.10.0 is slower for me. (Latest version of grapheneOS)
I can’t see why from the commit history. The go version changed, but should not affect performance that much.
