syncthings installation directly vs in a docker container

I’ll be using syncthings for LAN only syncing of my documents between my various computers and server. The server has daily 1-2-3 backups.

Right now the server only has SSH and Samba running natively. The samba shares are read-only for various reasons.

Everything else I plan to do in a Docker container (web, Plex, etc…).

I am debating the pros cons of installing SyncThings directly on the server, alongside SSH and Samba, or in a Docker container.

Right now my biggest pull for installing it directly is, in case Docker ever mucks up, at least my document syncing will still be working.

I wanted to see what others thought.
