I’m running ST on VPS with OVZ. I have a folder with 8424 files. So I get an error about iNotify file handles limit. The limit is 8162 handles.

In OVZ you can’t change fs.inotify.max_user_watches to any other value.

Any ideas to reduce iNotify handles usage and to make ST more fritendly to OVZ?

Have less files/folders, or disable watching and fallback to periodic scanning.

I am really suprised you don’t have root on a vps to change this.

That shouldn’t be an issue, handles are used per directory.

I do have root. But sysctl isn’t usable with OpenVZ linux installs
