Just want to make sure this is safe etc, I need to sync a folder between my pc and phone, already used syncthing on pc and ubuntu for pc to server sharing… I wish i could have one folder shared between pc / server / laptop / phone lol

The Fork is officially listed in the Docs, so yes, it is safe. It wouldn’t be there if it was not.

cool, I didnt realise there are two apps. only one showed in a google play store search and i did not think to look in the faq lol…sorry.

Please keep in mind that the recommended method to install the Fork is via F-Droid (or directly from GitHub). The Play Store version is likely going to be discontinued (see https://github.com/Catfriend1/syncthing-android#about-play-store-releases).

On one hand that is bad as I hate installing things from sources other than google play.

On the other hand, the fact i had to remove my app from google play due to my inability to pay for hosting of a file to say how i deal with user generated content (in an app that had NO user generated content or ability to recieve any) still induces rage in me (and thats ignoreing the amount of times they changed the api so much that it broke my app if I updated but then demanded I update) so i get why its being pulled. I am not sure i will install it via github though, do not know if i can side load with out causing issues with apps i need for work. unfamiliar with fdroid.
