Syncthing-Fork can't update or install

I have been happily running Syncthing-Fork for some years, previously via F-Droid install then more recently using Obtainium.

For some months now I have sporadically tried to update S-F in Obtainium but I always get a message: “Some errors occurred. Conflict [Syncthing-Fork]”

Tonight I decided to try exporting my config, uninstall then reinstall. To my surprise and concern I got the same message again. So I tried install via FDroid (actually Droidify). It just failed with no messages.

I’ve had a look at the android/media folder and there is a com.github.catfriend1.syncthingandroid.debug folder. I suspect that while trying to get an update to happen I inadvertently selected the debug release from within the 3 options provided in Obtainium. However after uninstalling Syncthing-Fork this folder remains, along with the problem, and there is no sign of any Syncthing-Fork install to be found in Apps. I am only guessing that somehow the presence of the debug release is somehow conflicting with the regular APK install?

In some amount of desperation I have tried to reinstall the debug version in Obtainium, but it throws a message: “Some errors occurred. Downloaded package ID does not match existing app ID - com.gihub.catfriend1.syncthingandroid.debug [Syncthing-Fork]”

Does anyone have any insights how to solve this?

I am very reliant on Syncthing and will be a bit lost without it functioning on my phone!
