Syncthing Fdroid App Permissions

I was planning to download Syncthing App from FDroid play store on an Android phone.

In the permissions section, it is mentioned that the following permissions are required.

Why does Syncthing require access to ‘take photos and videos’ and ‘location’, when all it needs to do is sync files?

Does it collect more information than required to operate? Has this app been audited for security and privacy?

Can we use the app without giving access to camera and GPS?

Thanks Jad333

The reason for those permissions is stated here: https://github.com/syncthing/syncthing-android/blob/main/privacy-policy.md

You can probably deny the permissions (if your android version allows that) and it should work without them if you don’t use that features, but I did not try that.
