Syncthing does not show the reality

Hi all,

I’m a very new Syncthing user and in general not really an IT expert - so please have some patience with me, in case I’m just not using the system right…

So, I’d like to sync a folder with sub-folders and pictures between my desktop computer, my mobile and the mobile of my wife. For that I use Syncthing on my Windows-computer and Syncthing-Fork on our mobiles (Google Pixel 7 and 7a).

The synchronisation between my computer and my wifes mobile is working perfectly fine. The shared folder has ~5GB, and ~1.000 files, which is shown at both devices.

The problem starts at my mobile, where synchthing fork tells me that I have 5922 of 6825 files and 19,2 GB of 23,2 GB synced for that folder… It says “not synchronized”. The weird thing is, that the folder is synchronized. It contains the ~5GB of files which it is intended to. Also changes are logged. The system tells me that I have ~930 elements not synced, but the list of not synced elements is empty (even though it has 93 pages, which are empty).

I tried to delete everything from my mobile (datas and syncronisation) and set it up again - this is how I ended up with the 19,2 vs. 23,2 GB. Before it was something like 14 vs. 18 GB. Which was also wrong.

I mean, in the end I got what I wanted - a synced folder between our 3 devices, but this constant red “not syncronized” message is giving me bad vibes  Also the 21% loading at the top of the screen does not fit at all…

Does anyone have an idea, what is going on?

Thanks Moe

Please post screenshots of the Syncthing Web GUI from all devices, especially with the problematic folder unfolded and fully visible. On Android, you can access the Web GUI from the left slide-out menu.

Hey, all right, thanks - I hope this is what you need  Funny thing: I used Syncthing, to get the Screenshots from my mobile to the PC to upload them here

Is this really the same folder? If yes, can you confirm 100% that the state on the PC side is the correct one? If that’s the case indeed, I’d suggest to remove the folder from Android completely (including physically deleting it from the disk), and then try to add and sync it again from scratch, because the global state on the Android side looks completely broken.

Yes, it is 100% the same folder. And it is 100% the same content on PC and mobile… The snychronization does work, the android app just doesn’t show it…

I already tried the solution you propose, this did not solve it :frowning: As I said in my first post, it just increased the amount of GB it wrongfully shown in the Android App… So, it kind of made the problem worse.

I also suggest a fresh start. Just create a second empty folder on your PC, different path but keep the random Folder ID (e.g. wyyeh-xdvrb).

Share it and select a different target again (something like …/0/Pictures/Familie). Test with a few pictures and if it works move all files to the new folder.

Okay, thanks - in the end it worked like that

I guess in the trys before, I did not use new folder names / target paths…

Thanks!!!
