Syncing folders locally and via relaying

Hi,

I have a folder on my phone that I want to be synced to my server only when I am in my trusted local LAN (e.g. private documents) and another folder (e.g. photos) that I want to sync anytime via relaying. Is it possible to configure this on a folder level? Thanks!

It is not. The level of control is at the device level, whether we connect to them at all on a given address or not.

I haven’t tested these options myself, but as we’re talking about a phone here, Syncthing-Fork does seem to offer per-folder sync conditions.

Following https://github.com/Catfriend1/syncthing-android:

  • Individual sync conditions can be applied per device and per folder (for expert users).

Because I see keywords like “trusted” and “private”, I also wanted to highlight that Syncthing’s network connections are always encrypted and authenticated. Data is still safe even when relaying.
