Syncing Files - Files already located at destination

hi all,

I am a new kid on the block, so sorry if this has already been asked.

I having been copying file backup files from my server to my NAS manually (25TB in total), to keep the two locations up-to-date.

what I would like to know is:

  1. Is there a way I can use syncthing to see what files are at both locations and just copy files that are either modified or new? not having it delete at the destination and redownload everything from the source again, as this will take the syncthing ages to do.

  2. Is there any way to receive notification by email on whether a sync was successful/failed at either side?

cheers in advance.

If you add the folders with existing data on both sides they’ll be merged, not redownloaded. There are no email notifications, no.
