Sync pictures from smartphone to pc and delete only on pc

Hi,

I’m new at syncthing. I want to sync my pictures from my smartphone to my PC. On my PC, I will sort them into different folder and then delete them from the synced folder. But the photos should not be deleted from the smartphone.

If I select the folder as “send only” on the smartphone, the pictures will not be deleted. Thats ok. But in the app on the smartphone, there is a hint, that I there were changes on the PC and I have to resync. But if I resync, the deleted pictures will be resynced to the PC. I don’t want that.

If I select the option “ignore delete” in the app, it looks better. But in the webui on the PC, there is always a hint that there a non-synchronized elements.

Has anyone an idea to solve this issue a little bit nicer?

Syncthing is bidirectional sync, it makes files look the same on both sides. Your use-case is effectively not supported as that is not what the tool is for. You can sort of achieve that with folder types, but you already understand the shortcomings of that.

You could add the deleted photos to ignore patterns on the phone (before deleting them on the other side). This way, the folder state will still look clean from the Syncthing’s perspective.
