Sync over USB to Android?

I’ve been using Syncthing to successfully Wifi sync between my Ubuntu 21.04 laptop and my Android 11 phone. I won’t have Wifi for a while. Is it possible to sync over a USB cable connection to my phone? I searched the forum but didn’t see any solutions.

I think there is a “USB Tethering” option you can enable under Android. It’s meant to share the phone’s internet connection to a connected PC via USB, just like a WiFi Hotspot. In theory it should enable connectivity between the two, but you’ll have to try if they really find each other.

Using the phone’s Hotspot would be another possibility. In my experience it works, but you might need to turn off the phone’s cellular data connection.
