I am attempting to sync a single folder across two Windows 11 Pro laptops. The laptops are on the same local network. After much troubleshooting, I’ve been unable to determine why the sync does not take place. I’ve manually created folders and made changes to the folder but it never gets updated on the other laptop. Possible the firewall or anti-virus is blocking? These laptops have Norton 360 installed. I’ve tried to run this sync with protection off without any luck.
I am set to “send and receive” on source laptop and all settings seem to be in place. Please see screen shots. I’ve set the sync time very low for testing only.
Any help that can be provided is much appreciated.
The Folder is showing both a Local State and a Global State of zero files. Syncthing doesn’t think there is anything to sync.
Please check the folder on both sides, and please check to make sure that the user running the Syncthing process has appropriate file and directory access rights.
The Remote Device is connected via a Relay. If they’re on the same local LAN, that would indicate to me that they are not able to communicate. Check that Syncthing is able to bind to TCP/22000 (add UDP/22000 for QUIC). Please also post a screenshot of Actions/Settings/Connections from both sides.
I was able to resolve this. Grok was very helpful. I needed to sync the source folder to a different path. Thanks for those who helped. Much appreciated.
The last screenshot show as password set for the “encrypted device” feature. this means, that the device “ZiaZen-2” is untrusted and should not be able to use the data, just store (and forward to other devices).
This is probably miss-configured and can also cause problems.
