For some reason, Syncthing says the folder is up to date on my Steam Deck, but the folder clearly isn’t synced, verified by the folder named “test folder test” on my Desktop but not on my Steam Deck (among other things). I’ve looked at other posts but they either don’t provide a solution or provide a solution I can’t accomplish, such as moving my game’s saves folder to another location. I have a feeling it has something to do with permissions, but as far as I can tell, I’ve given Syncthing as many permissions relating to files as I can on my Steam Deck.
When installing on my Steam Deck, I first tried the Linux version from the website, but trying to run the exe just opened Discover (Steam Deck’s app store pretty much) to download Firefox so I gave up and installed Syncthing GTK from Discover, which is what I think I should’ve done in the beginning. I don’t think this would’ve caused any issues, but I’m giving as much information as I can.
Do the local and global states on both sides change when you add new files to the folder? If yes, then this means that Syncthing is doing its job, however (likely due to permissions) you may not be able to see the newly synced folders and files in the file manager on the Steam Deck.
I’m not quite sure what this means, because if Syncthing is doing its job, shouldn’t the folders and files show up?
In other news, I have a new error now. This error showed up in the past but I gave Syncthing all permissions relating to files and it seemed to go away, but it’s back now. This might’ve been the underlying issue and Syncthing might’ve incorrectly thought everything was good.
It seems like giving Syncthing direct permissions to the Ryujinx folder gave it the permissions necessary. For anyone seeing this at a future date, restarting my Steam Deck seemed to get everything going after doing that!
