As you may have noticed, there’s been a slight flood of spam lately. Apart from doing the obvious blocking, I’ve deployed Akismet to hopefully get rid of most of it. Akismet works a bit “after the fact” in Discourse (this forum software), so may take up to ten minutes to yank a spam post. If it does the wrong thing, a moderator will undo the yanking.
Hopefully this’ll be enough. If not, there’s the nuclear option of temporary moderating new users’ first posts, but I’d rather not go there.
