Safe upgrade path from v0.14.51

Hey all,

I’ve got a cluster of 5-ish machines (one or two offline for medium-long term). State is about 1M files and 9TB.

They are currently running v0.14.51 (:anxious_face_with_sweat: ) and I’m looking to upgrade.

Knowing what you know now, what are some “safe bets” for upgrades?

I was trying to retrospectively look at: time between release, number of issues raised (or rather issue creation rate) per release to find some longer-term stable releases to jump to. I was also going to take a look at which contained fairly large functionality changes and jump to version before these.

But, I’m sure there’s someone here with a much better answer, which is why I’m asking

I see that version 2 isn’t too old and quite a few open issues around stability, so leaning towards 1.27.x

Many thanks!

Someone else can comment on upgrade path.

1.27.0 is good if you’re running any old machines still running windows 7.

1.30 was the last 1.x version and was very stable for me.

I’m running 2.14 and it’s been very solid. There are some people with massive installations dealing with some database performance issues but aside from that 2.xx is good.

FYI I’m running about 500k files and 7.2TB on version 2 with no problem.
