Question about File Versioning

I have one of my sync folders set for simple file versioning to keep the last version of my files. This morning, I tried to get one of the older files back, and not sure if I have it set up correctly. What is displayed on Syncthing is not all the files in the versioning folder.

Is there something I need to do to display all the saved versions?

Impossible to say from the cropped screenshot, but doesn’t the one excel file have several versions to choose from and the sync conflicts are separate / beside the point

The problem is Syncthing only shows the files with sync conflicts and not the ones that were replaced.

Please keep in mind that file versioning only works for files that have been modified on other devices and then synced to the local device in question. In other words, it doesn’t version files modified locally (as it can only detect those after the fact, and at that time there is no previous version of the file available any more).

I see an entry for ”.xlsx” where you hidden the rest. But really, it’s quite frustrating to guess from redacted screenshots so :man_shrugging:

I did a couple of tests.

  1. I copied one of the xlsx file from filename~date-time.xlsx to fiename.test.slsx and Syncthing shows the copied file.
  2. I created a test folder and made changes to a test file (file1.txt). None of the saved files show.

Something to do with the ~ character?

Works for me

Thanks. Got it. Strictly a newbie error.
