I could see this possibly being done by allowing there to be more than one “.stfolder” and with a configurable name. I think there’s an issue for the name already, somewhere in the tracker. You could then say that the folder markers are {.stfolder, foo/bar/shouldAlwaysExist} and if either of those are missing the folder is stopped.
