At a guess you’re running into the “We’ll only email you if we haven’t seen you recently and you haven’t already seen the thing we’re emailing you about.” thing.

I think that’ll only get you less mail. Doesn’t look like there’s a setting for “send me emails even when i’m browsing around on the site”.
