Need help interpreting state of syncing

Two identical cloned laptops --only LOCAL changes, LOCAL only sends, REMOTE only receives. My understanding is that when they get connected, LOCAL syncs REMOTE and I expect to see both “UP to Date.”

But per what syncthing on LOCAL shows me (attached) and that’s not what I see.

I added a TEST folder on LOCAL and it does not appear on REMOTE.

Can somebody interpret for me what is going on and what I need to do to fix, if anything?

and tell me what is going on – remotedevices local remote

Thanx.

Check your setup: Folder ID is not the same and the folders are shared with the same device (NEWSYS).

Also: Never press the red button unless you are prepared to loose all local-only data

I stumbled over the same and even updated the official docs to make this more transparent

Thanx for responding.

I am going to reinstall and reconfigure syncthing. I went thru the install/config instructions for Windows and I wanna make sure I understand them correctly.

I have a local and a remote laptop that are identical (clones). Each has one identically named folder – let’s call them both FOLDER. I only make changes to local FOLDER and I want those changes sent to remote FOLDER (one way).

Do I just add FOLDER on local device as send only to be shared by remote? Or do I need to add each FOLDER on its own device as send only and receive only?

Question: Are file deletions/modifications also synced, or only file additions?

Can anybody please help?

You can add the folder on the first device and share it with the other device, then on the latter accept the share under your preferred path. You can also set the folder types when doing so as you wish.

As for the question, everything gets synced, including additions, modifications, and deletions.

Thanx.
