I have two laptops and a phone. Music directory syncs as expected, Syncthing scans the directory and viola! Files are magically synced to the other two devices. Notes directory and nix flake directory on the other hand show no found files or directories?
I do not get it. I made a test directory to which I added a couple of files, dotfile and a non-dotfile. Syncthing does not seem to see the directory and files within it, how would I go about troubleshooting this?
NixOS, Flakes + HM, not flakes and not HM, Android.
You’re not giving us a lot to go on here. Please post screenshots of the Syncthing GUI for both the device with the files on it that you want to sync, and (at least one) device that’s supposed to have the files synced to it. Please expand the Remote Device and the Folder that you’re trying to share on both screenshots.
Here’s from my main and host machine (orion-15) which sits on all the files along with a little terminal telling us there’s 8 files in my .nix directory.
I’ll grab a screenshot later tonight from jupiter-3.
Thanks! Looking at the Folder “nix” and it’s Global State and Local State, orion-15 believes that this Folder has no files locally or anywhere else.
Please click Edit for “nix” and click Ignore Patterns. Is it empty? If you have any Ignore Patterns, that’s where I would expect the problem to be.
Two more things to check. Are there files in ~/.nix ? And does the user that owns the Syncthing process have the appropriate rights to that directory?
If that’s not it, please activate “fs”, “scanner” and “watchaggregator” in Actions/Logs/Debug Facilities. Then rescan the “nix” Folder. Wait few minutes, paste your logs here, and turn off those Debug Facilities (in an abundance of caution for performance on your device orion-15). If your issue isn’t an Ignore Pattern, hopefully those logs will let us know what’s up.
