Mobius Sync says "Unshared" on both desktop and iPad even after I opened the ports per instructions

Hi there, I’m new here and trying to use Mobius to use Syncthing, and having issues. My folders are it’s still showing “Unshared”, even after following the instructions here to open those 3 ports:

https://docs.syncthing.net/users/firewall.html#firewall-setup

https://www.tomshardware.com/news/how-to-open-firewall-ports-in-windows-10,36451.html

Can someone point me in the right direction?

We can only help with vanilla Syncthing :man_shrugging:

You need to get a device connection first and then you can create the folder on one side and share it to the other. The other side will then make a notification to accept that folder.

I’d clarify that free and open source community contributions like SyncTrayzor, SyncthingTray or the new Windows Setup are in fact discussed and supported through these forums too. The difference with Mobius Sync is that it is a commercial application, and as such it provides its own support channels.

The problem here sounds like the common case of a new user being confused by the GUI though . If that’s what it is, then I’d suggest to check the Introduction under https://docs.syncthing.net/intro/index.html first.

Thank you! I figured this out just now as I was trying to use “vanilla” Syncthing to connect to my Galaxy Note 9.

(Now syncing to it is stuck at 0% with no progress for about 30 minutes, but I’ll make a different topic for that.)

@tomasz86, I indeed just started. I’m trying to use regular Syncthing for my Android phone and Mobius for my iPad. Would you recommend a different way to sync to (and between) my Android and iPad?

As far as I’m aware, Mobius is indeed the only solution for iOS. Basically, if you’ve got questions about or want support for the Mobius wrapper app, then you should head to their support forums. If you’ve got questions about Syncthing itself, then of course they are welcome here.

Please make sure the folder isn’t set to “Send Only”, because the default Camera folder is set up like that, so it won’t accept any files from remote devices.
