I shared a folder between two MacBooks using Syncthing. Both of my computers are on the same network and have the same Home folder name. I wanted to share my aliases using Syncthing and use my aliases on each Mac, but somehow the aliases are getting corrupted. They appear as a text file, and when I open them, I see a set of complex characters. When I share the aliases via AirDrop, they work on both Mac. I think Syncthing is somehow corrupting the files when syncing aliases. Can you help me with this? What should I do to sync my aliases between Macs without broken.
As I understand it, Mac alias files are dependent upon their resource fork. Syncthing does not preserve the resource fork of sync’d files (FAQ — Syncthing documentation).
