Linux/Pi OS with Syncthing and sleeping of USB-SSD possible?

Hi, does my ssd connected via USB to my raspberry go to sleep or is it always running because Syncthing is testing for changes some folder at the disk about all ten minutes?

Is it possible to maninpulate the behavior of the ssd under Syncthing/linux or is there nothing to do?

As you might figured out I have no idee how a disk is behaving under linux at all.

Thank you!!

What does it mean for an SSD to sleep?

Save Power, at least minimal Power?

I would hope that’s the default when there is no I/O ongoing. There’s no motor that spins up or down.

Yeah, I hope too but would prefer to know how Syncthing and Linux handle usb-SSDs.
