Hi,
I have the following error message when I run the last version of syncthing :
janv. 31 22:10:44 ordi8 systemd[1]: start request repeated too quickly for syncthing@eric.service
janv. 31 22:10:44 ordi8 systemd[1]: Failed to start Syncthing - Open Source Continuous File Synchronizati…eric.
janv. 31 22:10:44 ordi8 systemd[1]: Unit syncthing@eric.service entered failed state.
If I dsable the auto-upgrade option and use the version v0.14.19 “Dysprosium Dragonfly” of syncthing, then everything seems working fine.
Do you have any idea too solve this issue ?
I am running under Mageia 5 x86_64, but I get the same issue using the 32-bits version.
Regards.
Xuo.

You don’t show what the error is or what version you’re running. You say “the latest”, but 0.14.20 had an issue like this that was fixed in 0.14.21. Are you running 0.14.21?
To capture the actual error, if you can’t get it out of systemd, just start it manually once and paste what it says.

journalctl -r -u user@syncthing.service
(or the equivalent for a user service) to get the log out of systemd

Hi,
Thanks for the answers.
syncthing -version
syncthing v0.14.20 “Dysprosium Dragonfly” (go1.8rc2 linux-386) jenkins@build.syncthing.net 2017-01-24 08:26:45 UTC
I’ll try to get the version 0.14.21. This version had been automatically retrieved by syncthing itself before I disabled the auto-upgrade.
Here is the result of the following command :
journalctl -r -u syncthing@eric.service

The -logfile
flag can’t be used together with STNORESTART
. It’s never worked and now it causes an actual error at startup. There is no point setting a logfile when running it through systemd, as systemd manages your logs.

Hi,
Yes, I noticed that the log file was not created at startup and was always empty (after I created it manually).
Without this option, syncthing v0.14.21 works fine.
Thank you very much for your help.
