Ignoring links as well

Hi

About the new Enhancements in [v1.28.1-rc.1]:

  • #9725: Ignoring symbolic links when syncing on android as well

Does this mean we didn’t not need anymore the

(?d)(?i)*.lnk

ignore patterns for a long time ? Or if we remove them we’ll find errors in the GUI or the log tainted with ~unsupported file~ entries?

Thank you

The “symbolic links” talked about here have nothing to do with files whose name ends in .lnk. So no, you should not remove those ignore patterns if you still need these files to be filtered.

Hi André

Aren’t they the Windows symbolic links ?

These are two completely different things. On Windows, you can create symbolic links e.g. with mklink from the command line. If you’re not sure what they are though, then you also likely don’t need them .

Thanks
