I purchased this today to use with obsidian but it does not work as I expected. I thought I would be able to use is to sync my Obsidian vaults folder on my iPad with my Google Drive folder where I keep the vault, but I haven’t been successful.

Syncthing is not being sold by this community. Since you mention an iPad, it might be Möbius Sync that you’ve purchased? If so, please contact their official support channels, since this is definitely the wrong place to ask for a refund.
