Hello forum,
I would like to suggest to change the http login prompt with a form, so that I can use a password manager. I’m using 1Password which can’t fill in login prompts.

That’s a fair reason. Please post this as a feature request on the issue tracker, if it is not already in there. I don’t see any downsides to this other than a little bit more work than what we do today. It would in fact simplify some things, as well.
