Basically I pressed the ignore patterns button and it directed me to (apparently) the only plain text editing app I have (app interceptor). I put in the ignore patterns I wanted with no syntax instructions at all, then pressed save and was told it couldn’t save my changes because the file was read-only. What’s the intention here? How are other people doing this?

If you’re still using the deprecated official Android app, you should switch to https://github.com/Catfriend1/syncthing-android, because the former isn’t going to be updated anymore. Please check https://github.com/Catfriend1/syncthing-android#switching-from-the-now-deprecated-official-version for instructions on how to do that.

I use Ghost Commander to edit ignore files on Android.
