How do you let file manager apps access your android app data files?

I installed the NMM file manager app, when I installed the app, I was able to access the Root/android/data/… Files. now, it only lets me see the files of the app itself, please give me a solution to this problem, i’ve been trying to search for the solution for several months now.

This is a known problem in newer versions of Android which restrict access to that path. There is an issue about this on Github for syncthing-android (which I can’t link to, as GitHub itself seems to be down at the very moment…). Nevertheless, there is no workaround to this particular problem for now, i.e. you cannot sync those folders.

Which app is it that used to have access to the path (but no longer does)? Do you mean the file manager app or the Syncthing app?

The related issue is https://github.com/syncthing/syncthing-android/issues/1638. There is a lot of information there why some apps can and some cannot (including Syncthing) access that specific path.

I’m just pointing out that the OP is unclear about which app is no longer able to access which path. It sounds to me like NMM file manager stopped being able to access some path. Please clarify.

Yeah, I’m guessing the specific file manager is (automatically?) used as the folder picker in the Syncthing app.
