"folder marker missing" on _new_ incoming share

I have files on an Android phone, they are offered as a share (Photos) to a Windows 11 laptop. This is the first attempt at sharing (the files are not there yet on the laptop).

I chose to synchronize the share Photos from the phone to D:\tel\ on the laptop (this is the root I chose at the very bottom of the sharing window), so I expected the share to land at D:\tel\Photos.

Unfortunately I immediately get, on the laptop, a toast (and then a persistent Notification) with the information that the folder maker is missing.

There is a good FAQ on the topic of .stfolder – my problem is that this is a new share (from the incoming perspective) and the directory (Photos) at the root (D:\tel\) should be created, and within there the .stfolder directory. Nothing of this happens.

How have you installed Syncthing on Windows specifically? These kind of issues usually indicate that Syncthing has no permissions to access that location. Can you post screenshots of the Syncthing Web GUI with the specific folder path and the error message visible?
