File name contains invalid characters

I have a subdir in a folder whose name triggers out of sync: the subdir is called “folderRoot/Pictures/! foo”, folderRoot being my Windows(7) user name in c:\users and being synched with another pc with stignores this way:

!Documents
!Pictures
!Music
*
