Feature request: ignore out of syncs when ignore delete option is enabled

i just found out the ignore delete option. I used this to upload from my phone to desktop(ignore delete enabled). but this shows out of sync in Web UI of android app and syncing(xx %) in the device tab of app.

is it possible to ignore the out of sync files and treat it as up to date? since one has enabled the ignore delete and knows that already.

Atleast in the device tab of the app. it would help to know that syncing(xx %) is actually syncing something and not because of the ignore delete option.

No this won’t happen. Ignore deletes is a hack that I’d argue should not be there in the first place. You probably should be using something else than syncthing for what you are doing.

I support this. What’s the point of ignore delete if it triggers issues.

Syncthing is a great tool even as a backup solution e.g., for uploading photos from a mobile and keep those safe, while deleting those from the mobile won’t affect the server state. It’s one-way, of course it will be “out of sync” / mismatched. It should be a supported mode where it would check whether all the files are present at the time of check on the source as a backup on the target. That’s it, no magic.

I’m new here. Stumbling on that, I support the wish for that specific use-case: sending photos from phone to computer, allowing to make space on the phone (deleting some photos without deleting them on the computer).

True that it’s a different usecase than what Syncthings provides… And what I use for pictures on the phone is Möbius, which isn’t the responsibility of people developping Syncthings…

So I’ll shut-up now
