New to all this, trying to set up Syncthing between two computers. Installed the software on both computers but one has 1 failed item. It is system volume information and it says access denied. The other computer has scanned files but no transfer has taken place. What am I doing wrong?
Welcome here @Patrick47586 !
A failed item should not prevent other files and directories from being scanned and synced. Can you please provide screenshots so that we may better help you?
Correction; Both computers have the same failed item. Both comuters have a dedicated SSD drive that was formatted. One comuter has two folders containg files moved to the D:. Both computers use the D: for Synchthing
I got it working thanks
This is a system folder that shouldn’t be synced. Also, as it appears that you’re trying to sync a whole drive, please be aware that there’s a known issue which causes file watching not to work in drive root paths in Windows (e.g. D:, etc.). This means that you need to rely on periodic scans only.
You are correct. I was trying to synch the entire drive. I deleted the folder in Syncthing and then added a Shared folder using File Explorer. Then added the new Shared folder in Synchting and everything started to work. Thanks again for your reply
