Extended atrributes, can I force an 'update'?

I have a directory on one system where I have added a lot of extended attributes to files. After adding these attributes I have set the syncthing configuration setting to copy extended attributes.

Is there any way to force the attributes to be copied without other file changes?

IIRC it should be scanned automatically, but if it isn’t, touch the file to cause a timestamp update.
