Excel changes not picked up by Syncthing

When we edit excel files and make small changes, syncthing doesn’t pick up on the change. When the file then is edited on the other NAS then it makes a sync conflict. When we create an excel file in the directory’s, that get’s synced immediately.

Only when editing it goes wrong.

NAS are both Synology boxes. Any one has a clue as to why?

Does the file stay open in excel? As far as I know it locks the file, thus Syncthing can’t change it.

We save the file and close excel.
