Errors and Permissions

Im having serious issues. i set it up on my PC fine so that my retro arch saves are synced. but when i try to add the folder to my unraid syncthing it gives me all these errors. any help would be seriously welcomed.

This photo shows the errors after adding my folder on the unraid

This photo shows everything after it ran for a while.

“Failed to create folder marker” is key – Syncthing is telling you it cannot write a file in the directory that you want to have a Folder in. The user that runs Syncthing needs to have those file rights.

I suspect your other errors will clear up after that.

Agree. Until syncthing can create a subdirectory in the target folder and write a file inside that directory you have no hope. Fix the permissions issues first.

i don’t understand, what file rights. can you break down what i need to do because ive been trying this issue all day.

i genuinly dont know what permission issues i could be having ive tried stuff all day from google.

I’m not running unraid myself and don’t know how syncthing is running on it (is it in a container?) perhaps someone with unraid experience can help. Dont know if it’s possible to edit the subject of the thread but adding “on Unraid” may draw attention from people who may be better equipped to help.

Every process on your device is owned by a user or system account. For example, when you start Solitaire, the Solitaire process is owned by the account that you logged in with, and inherits the rights that you have.

That account needs to have the rights to the files you’re trying to sync.

How did you start Syncthing?

What user is running the Syncthing process?

I don’t know how to do file rights on your NAS.

I think its something to do with unraid i swear im doing everything right

so i decided to try and just add a folder on the unriad GUI and im getting this error.

I solved the issue, theres something wrong with the binhex version.
